Can’t stop, you got too caught up in the festivities... oh please Try again to prove your ridiculous hypotheses... dear me You say you’re getting closer, you say you’re growing taller Cleave the leash, cut loose, misuse, and waste yourself some more If you’re discreet, your threads won’t deplete Tell yourself it’s alright, right before you unravel Had a fit to get stitched up Now you’re falling apart again at the seams Glad you’re not on my team Can’t stop you got caught again, this time you’re gonna jump right off... Let yourself get dragged down into the flames, just to get burned again You say you’re getting closer, you say you’re growing taller Shed responsibility enjoy the ride and waste yourself some more If you’re discreet, your threads won’t deplete Tell yourself it’s alright, right before you unravel Had a fit, had to get stitched up Falling apart at the seams Glad you’re not on my team Give me the needle... give me the thread... I’ll put you back together again

Shouldn’t walk around without clothes Sneaking by on tip toes Now you’re exposed, the info’s disclosed It’ll be tomorrow before you even awaken I suppose Pop a pill, sit and chill Wear your other face and cut to the chase What you say is never what you mean Getting by while fully clothed Entitlement sure was betrothed Now you’re exposed, the info’s disclosed It’ll be tomorrow before you even awaken I suppose Pop a pill, sit and chill Wear your other face and cut to the chase What you say is never what you mean Green is the color of your skin Green is the color of your skin Fleshed out...Flesh out... Fleshed out...Flesh...

I need a rocket to fly me into outer space I don’t care too much for the human race The jet pack juice isn’t good enough, I need some thrusters to get up I need some horsepower, to get me off this rock I’m gonna go, go far away I’ve gotta go, I just can’t stay Please just don’t get in my way I’m gonna build a rocket, I’ve got the blueprints in my brain I’ve collected all the parts, and they’re welded to the frame I’m ambitious, they’re superstitious, they call me crazy and insane But from the looks of it, their frame is kind of lame I’m gonna go, go far away I’ve gotta go, I just can’t stay Please just don’t get in my way My way Conventional vehicles don’t cut it anymore Foot on the fuel injector, blast through the door Thank you Major Tom, this countdown’s engaged Don’t need no ground control, it’s time to fucking rage

As I keep walking forward, I hear the sound Of crunchy crunchy skeletons, on the ground Every time you talk, trouble walking that talk Attempt to scale the stalk, trouble picking that lock A meticulous decision with the utmost precision This is a pompous vision that we can’t ignore That we must abort Trample where you step, oblivious to what you crush Attention costs so much, you just need to fucking hush Every time you talk, trouble walking that talk Choosing where to step, with faltering respect A meticulous decision with the utmost precision This is a pompous vision that we can’t ignore That we must abort Do you even care For the fragile bones beneath your feet Bones beneath your feet

Caught in the middle of a storm Around we go Faster and faster The centripetal force Spins us into its control Spins us into submission In this crazy mess Hey, watch out A plentiful spin cycle awaits you If you can’t ride out The round wave Heading straight for the beacon A promise of safety Inching... closer... A great warming light Gives us hopeful vibes Gives us a sense of purpose But it’s not enough Hey, watch out A plentiful spin cycle awaits you If you can’t ride out The round wave Leviathan’s eye is calming But the storm rages on and on The reckoning is here

You think that you know what you’re ramblin’ on about In truth, no real words come out your mouth Here the words are wind, the right ears have no fear Run down the wrong hall and you’ll fall I saw you on point tonight But somehow you were still off I hear you, but no words are coming out your mouth Coming out your mouth Project your confidence, when you don’t even know What it is, you’re trying to get by Those who believe you, are certain to stagnate I sneeze instead, so I can say check mate I saw you on point tonight But somehow you were still off I hear you, but no words are coming out your mouth Coming out your mouth Watch what you say… Watch what you say...

about

Acoustic guitar was my true passion for many years. During this incredibly trying year I haven't been able to get together with my Energy Tank brothers much at all, which is truly depressing. I have however rediscovered my love for acoustics and taught myself a thing or two while recording, mixing, and mastering these songs and having them sound full.

So here we have a short EP of 4 previously released Energy Tank songs with a new acoustic breath of life, 2 never released songs that I decided to go acoustic on (even though electric versions are already mostly finished for the next Energy Tank LP), and 1 instrumental acoustic diddy that I actually wrote in 2004.

The name "Escapist's Tome" was an afterthought name for the first ET album that fits well with this collection of tunes. Writing music is a chance to escape reality, so I consider this release to be an audio book on doing so.

Thank you to my awesome bandmates who I don't get to see enough (damn you, pandemic!) and all my lovely confidants who listened to the demos to help me really pull out the dynamics in the mixing/mastering process. Special thanks to my lovely wife for making the adorable little sculpture for the album cover. I am in debt to your skills, ears, patience, and constructive feedback!
